Title: Identifying Risks of Financial Management: A Ranking Fuzzy Approach
Abstract:
Banks have been practising financial risk management ever since the exposure of various types of risks, which affect the performance of banks. However, authentic risks led to financial risk management in banking sector are indecisive. The aim of this paper is to propose the rank of the selected risks contributed to the financial risk management in banking sector using ranking fuzzy number. The method of ranking fuzzy numbers based on circumcenter is proposed to determine the highest ranking risk for the case of financial risk management in banking sector. Five experts in financial management were requested to offer linguistic evaluation over the ranking of risks in financial risk management. The proposed method of circumcenter, which takes into account distance, spread, and area of trapezoidal fuzzy numbers are applied in financial risk management. The result unveils that ‘credit risk’ is the leading risk whereas, the commodity risk is the lowest risk in financial management. An implication for banks is that the importance of addressing risk and paying close attention to the risk management as to avoid financial crisis.
