Title: International Stock markets and Financial Crises Including Covid‐19 Period
Abstract: 
This presentation presents the new changes occurred in the world stock markets in the last two decades, including changes in size, number of institutions, securities, instruments, volume, changes in legal aspects and changes in globalization aspects including increasing cross listed stocks, and the impact of such changes on stability of stock markets. In addition major issues related to volatility of stock markets are presented, such as causes of financial crises, increasing linkages of the world stock prices between developed and emerging markets, increasing daily stock price volatility, less efficient market, and frequency of stock market crises.
Finally, the presentation will conclude the major factors that may predict the future of world stock markets trends and possible crises. Such as fundamentals data, historical data, options strike rates for underling shares, psychological price barriers, national, regional and international economic crises, irrational and noise trading, and finally the health crisis, as what happened in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Biography: 

Dr. NIDAL RASHID SABRI is a Professor at Birzeit University, Palestine; He served as the Dean of College of Commerce and Economics and Director of the MBA program. He received his doctoral degree from the University of Northern Colorado, USA. He worked as a consultant on several missions with UN and international organizations, including: UN- ESCWA, UNDP, UNIDO, UNCTAD, UN-HABITAT, ILO, and IMF. He published Fifty papers in international academic journals including: International Journal of Business and Emerging Markets, Journal of Derivatives & Hedge Funds, International Journal of Business and Globalization, Research in International Business & Finance, Advances in Financial Economics, International Journal of Business, Review of Accounting & Finance, Journal of Multinational Financial Management, International Review of Applied Financial issues and economics, International Journal of Commerce and Management, International Management, Small Business Economic & Theoretical Economic Letters . 
He is also the author and co-author of about forty books and chapters including: Stability of International Stock Markets (Nova Science Publishers, NY, 2007) Financial Markets and Institutions in the Arab Economy (Nova Science Publishers, NY, 2008), The role of Arab Funds in Developing region. He is in the editorial member and referee for about 40 international academic Journals. He gave lectures and seminars in various Palestinian, Arab, European and Canadian universities. Finally he won the Kuwait Research Advancement Award in Economics, which is the most prestige’s academic award in Arab home in 2014.
