Prof. Dr. Şendil CAN Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University, Turkey
Biography: Dr. Şendil CAN is a professor of science education at Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University. She holds a degree in Chemistry Teaching, master’s degree and a doctoral degree and has 10 years of experience as a chemistry teacher in high schools affiliated to the Turkish Ministry of National Education. She has been working in academia for more than 18 years in the fields of science education, chemistry education and teacher education. Dr. Şendil CAN has nearly 100 national and international articles, papers and book chapters in Turkish and English. One doctoral and 9 master’s theses have been completed under her supervision. Dr. Şendil CAN has conducted scientific research projects within the scope of graduate theses, and also worked as an instructor in a project supported by the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey - TUBİTAK. Administratively, she served as the deputy director of the Institute of Educational Sciences and the deputy head of the department. In Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University (TURKEY), she teaches the courses of Chemistry, Chemical Stoichiometry, Laboratory Safety, Chemical Wastes and Environmental Pollution, Scientific Research Techniques and Publication Ethics. Dr. Şendil CAN is currently working on Augmented Reality Applications in Science Education.
