Biography: 
Dr. Erick Lusekelo Mwambuli is a Lecturer, Researcher and Consultant in accounting, banking and finance at The Institute of Finance Management (IFM), a government higher learning institution/university under the Ministry of Finance and Planning in United Republic of Tanzania. Mwambuli gained his Doctor of Philosophy degree (PhD) in Financial Management from Dongbei University of Finance and Economics (DUFE) in the People’s Republic of China in 2017.His previous academic and professional achievements includes : Masters of Science degree in Finance (MSc in Finance) from University of Strathclyde in United Kingdom, Bachelor degree/Advanced Diploma in Accountancy from the Institute of Finance Management (IFM) in Tanzania, Certified Public Accountant (CPA-Tanzania) offered by the National Board of Accountants and Auditors (NBAA) in Tanzania, Certified Professional Banker (CPB-Tanzania) from the Tanzania Institute of Bankers (TIOB) in Tanzania. Mwambuli has offered his expertise in accounting, banking and finance to different higher learning institutions/universities, public sector institutions and private sector institutions in form of training, capacity building, consultancies and researches within and outside Tanzania including; the Bank of Tanzania (BOT), Diamond Trust Bank (DTB), Habib African Bank , Tanzania Institute of Bankers (TIOB), Local Government Authorities of Tanzania (TAMISEMI), National Board of Accountants and Auditors (NBAA), Dalian Polytechnic University (P.R China), Institute of Accountancy Arusha (IAA) and Institute of Finance Management (IFM). Mwambuli also serves as examination advisor and resource person for several professional boards in Tanzania including the National Board of Accountants and Auditors (NBAA) and the Tanzania Institute of Bankers (TIOB) for over a decade now and is being actively engaged in professional activities. He has received several recognitions and awards from different institutions for his distinguished performance and contribution.

Mwambuli has a massive global and domestic experience in several academic work appraisal and review. Apart from publishing extensively in both local and international journals, he is a peer reviewer of several international organized academic journals and member of editorial board for several journals including a Journal of Business Economics and Finance (a reputable journal in Europe). Mwambuli has researched and published over 10 academic works in several peer reviewed local and international journals including a Journal of Corporate Governance Research. Mwambuli’s main research interests are on corporate governance, corporate finance, financial risk management, financial markets, banking and corporate reporting. His research has been featured in books including a recent book chapter “Fighting an Invisible Enemy (COVID-19)-A review of  economic impact and policy response” in the book titled “The Game Changer” (a book that focus on the analysis of achievements and challenges which the fifth government regime of the United Republic of Tanzania is facing in placing the country on the path leading to middle income semi industrialized economy by 2025) published by Eastern and Southern African Universities Research Programme (ESAURP). Mwambuli has always strived to contribute to the best performance of the industry. To that end he is an expert in developing competence based curriculum for academic and professional institutions and he has mentored the research progress of a number of undergraduate and postgraduate students/junior//less experienced colleagues. Mwambuli is the General Secretary of the Institute of Finance Management (IFM)-Academic, Research and Consultancy committee. In addition to his professional life, Mwambuli was one among the Member of Parliament (MP) aspirants for Ukonga constituency in Dar es Salaam during the October 2020 general election in Tanzania under the ruling party.
