Title: Family centered practices in Early Childhood
Abstract: 
The presentation will describe the Recommended Practices (RP) of the Division of Early Childhood (DEC), delving into the topic of the family.
DEC Recommended Practices bridge the gap between research and practice, and offer guidance to parents and professionals working with young children who have or are at risk for developmental delays or disabilities. The Recommended Practices were first developed to provide guidance in the field of early intervention/early childhood special education and to support children's access to and participation in inclusive and natural settings. 
DEC Recommended Practices have eight topic areas: Assessment • Environment • Family • Instruction • Interaction • Teamwork and Collaboration • Transition and Leaders
In the session will be presented the Family Practices to promote the active participation of
families in making decisions related to their child and  to achieve the goals they have for their child and other family members.

Professor, Department of Occupational Sciences, Faculty of psychology at the Catholic University of Valencia.
Member of the Campus Capacitas and Human Development Research group.
Director of the Center for Inclusive Early Childhood and Early intervention at the Catholic University of Valencia.
Director of the UCV International Early Intervention Observatory, which involves organizations, researchers and families from 15 Ibero-American countries
Secretary of the University Institute for Research and Attention to Disability Capacitas-Amica.
Board member of the European Association for Early Childhood Care (Eurlyaid)
Collaborate with Universities and entities from Paraguay, Chile, Argentina and Colombia. Coordinator of International Cooperation projects within the University with programs to support Inclusive Education and Early intervention in India, Nicaragua, Argentina and Guatemala.
