| Title: Family centered practices in Early Childhood | |
| Abstract: The presentation will describe the Recommended Practices (RP) of the Division of Early Childhood (DEC), delving into the topic of the family. DEC Recommended Practices bridge the gap between research and practice, and offer guidance to parents and professionals working with young children who have or are at risk for developmental delays or disabilities. The Recommended Practices were first developed to provide guidance in the field of early intervention/early childhood special education and to support children's access to and participation in inclusive and natural settings. DEC Recommended Practices have eight topic areas: Assessment • Environment • Family • Instruction • Interaction • Teamwork and Collaboration • Transition and Leaders In the session will be presented the Family Practices to promote the active participation of families in making decisions related to their child and to achieve the goals they have for their child and other family members. | |
